God loves the homeless too!!!

It was the summer of 1973 and I was without a home in of all places Los Angeles. It seemed like nobody even cared if I lived or died. I was so desparate to return home which at that time was in Pennsylvania that I was willing to walk the whole distance back to get out of that hell hole of a town!! Now, fast forward 34 years finds me living here in Athens, Ohio. I am married to a wonderful lady who ironically works in of all places a homeless shelter!!! Every Friday, I help out there at the shelter and at the Friday night supper. It was there I discovered that these people who are so mistreated by society in general are just ordinary folks just like you and me who through a series of misfortuneate events ended up without a roof over their heads. Yes some are in this situation because of alcohol and drug addiction,but others are there because of layoffs, divorce,disasters, mental illness and other events beyond their control. So remember that God is angry with those who through politics or just Greed oppress these people who while living their life of luxury in their posh condos or apartments, daily ignore these persons as they suffer from the cold.
